What is The Bassett Center?

Transitional Housing Facility

The Bassett Center is primarily a residential transitional center for homeless families designed to provide support services that will assist families in making the transition from homelessness to self sufficiency and into permanent housing. The length of support services can extend from thirty days to up to two years depending on the support needed. Up to twelve families can stay at the center and receive support services at any time; other homeless families that have been through our support program may also be receiving support services.

Family Resource Center

The main goal of the resource center is to meet the developmental needs of the families in the transitional housing program.  These programs based on life skills, educational advancement, health issues, along with community resources/events, should provide growing opportunities for the families a the center, but at the same time provide opportunities for the Clark/Branch St. neighborhood. Communication of these resources that are open to the community will be relayed to the neighborhood via fliers, brochures, bulletins, local churches and any other available means of communication. Bassett Center facilities are also available to the community for events and special programs or meetings.
